How it started
The Founding Story
Jonny and Carl first crossed paths in college back in 2008, kicking off a friendship that would later shape the foundation of Star Feedback. After college, Jonny dove into the world of accounting, sharpening his financial acumen, while Carl travelled, developed a property portfolio, and held down a steady job, all while honing his business craft. Both were entrepreneurs at heart, learning the ropes of business from a young age, setting the stage for what was to come.
In early 2021, both Jonny and Carl were on the brink of launching their own businesses: Jonny with a web design agency and Carl with a mobile bar venture. Their paths converged when Jonny built the website for Carl’s new pub, The Old Packet House, in Altrincham, Cheshire. This collaboration rekindled their friendship and fueled their shared passion for business.
As Jonny scaled his web agency, he noticed a recurring demand among clients for live reviews on their websites. Carl, who was keen on revitalising his pub, saw the immense value in gathering positive reviews. Their conversations led to the realisation that small businesses needed an effective review management platform—a gap in the market that Star Feedback was created to fill.
By late 2023, Jonny and Carl had officially partnered to bring Star Feedback to life. With investment backing and a growing team, they set out to revolutionise how small businesses manage customer reviews. Today, Star Feedback is more than just a platform—it’s a community of businesses working together to enhance their reputations and thrive.
